RELIGIOUS EXEMPTION

Associated with and under The University of North Carolina System, Arize Institute of the Five Fold Ministry and Bible College has been granted an exemption from the regular state authorization requirements found in G.S. 116-15 and UNC Policy Manual 400.4.1. Meaning that Arize Institute of the Five-Fold Ministry and Bible College can operate postsecondary education programs in North Carolina.

ARIZE Institute of the Five-Fold Ministry and Bible College is currently in Associate Status with the Transworld Accrediting Commission. You will find our status on their website.

Standards of Transworld Accrediting International

 

STANDARD I: Structure & Governance

  • All Bible and theological courses must be based on evangelical doctrine. 

  • The organization and operation of the educational facility are in accord with appropriate state statutes.

  • A copy of the legal instrument creating the educational organization is on file.

  • The organizational structure and charter must reflect adequate personnel to accomplish the stated purpose and goals of the educational institution.

 

STANDARD II: Material Resources

  • The institution must have as a minimum, an administrative office with sufficient space to accommodate staff, appropriate files, and records.

  • The institution must provide students with an annually updated list of library and media resources.

  • The institution must have adequate media equipment to evaluate student course requirements and projects.

  • Classroom facilities are adequate to accommodate student needs.

 

STANDARD III: Policies

  • A current catalog is available to all students.

  • Student policies are stated in writing and available to all students.

  • Financial policies, including refund policies, are made available to all applicants before admission.

  • Faculty policies are stated in writing and distributed to each faculty member.

  • Administrative policies are in accordance with state laws.

  • Admission and personnel policies are in accordance with federal anti-discrimination statutes.

 

STANDARD IV: Faculty

  • The institution maintains written criteria for faculty appointment.

  • The faculty/Student ratio reflects a realistic workload.

  • Written faculty contracts are maintained and annually updated.

  • Faculty payment policies are consistent and non-discriminatory.

  • A method exists for faculty input into administrative decisions.

STANDARD V: Curriculum

  • The institution must maintain an annually updated list of courses offered.

  • The institution has a curriculum committee that oversees academic offerings.

  • Degree requirements are in keeping with generally accepted standards.

  • Students must receive a copy of their degree plan.

  • Course requirements for students are consistent within departments or divisions.

 

STANDARD VI: Evaluation

The institution maintains an organized evaluation system for student performance, organizational effectiveness, and faculty performance.

 

Status

Three Recognized Status Levels

Associate Status – An Associate institution is in the process of developing its facility, curriculum, staff, policies, etc. Their institutional/educational program has been operating for less than twelve months. An annual report is required.

 

Candidate Status – An Candidate institution is one that has submitted an application for accreditation to the Board of Directors of Transworld and is in the process of completing its self-study. They have been in existence for at least twelve months. An annual report is required.

 

Accredited Member Status – An Accredited institution has satisfactorily met all TAC accreditation standards and has been awarded its accreditation certificate. An annual report is required.

RELIGIOUS EXEMPTION - STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA

(What does this mean for Arize Institute of the Five-Fold Ministry and Bible College)?

Religious Exemption. We are approved to operate our Post-secondary degrees:

  1. Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies with emphasis on Christian Education

  2. Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies with emphasis on the Five-Fold Ministry

  3. Associate of Arts in Biblical Studies with emphasis on Christian Education

  4. Associate of Arts in Biblical Studies with emphasis on the Five-Fold Ministry 

 Furthermore, this religious exception which is planned by the institution is to lead to a degree in theology, divinity, or religious education, and postsecondary activity which is designed by the institution primarily for career preparation in a religious vocation is not subject to licensure. (G.S. 116-15 (d)).

  • North Carolina General Statute 116-15 gives the Board of Governors of the University of North Carolina authority to issue licenses to nonpublic and out-of-state institutions to conduct post-secondary degree activity in North Carolina.

  • The Board of Governors is the state entity that authorizes institutions to conduct post-secondary degree activity in North Carolina through a licensing process. Licensure is required by law. Accreditation is voluntary and is not a requirement to conduct degree activity in North Carolina.
